Koudo Ikusei Senior High School is known for its exceptional amenities and esteemed standing, as almost all its pupils go on to higher education or employment. The pupils are permitted to showcase their individuality through their preferred hairstyle and personal effects, creating what appears to be a perfect learning environment. However, the harsh reality is that only the crème de la crème of the student population receive favorable treatment. The lead character of our story is Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, who is part of the much-maligned D-Class, a segment of the establishment reserved for "lower" learners who are mocked and looked down upon. Kiyotaka was placed in this group due to an inadvertent error in his entrance exam. His life improves when he meets his schoolmates, Suzune Horikita and Kikyou Kushida, but it is not an easy road.
